Steube attacks small business for political expression

Greg Steube has once again showed us his true colors, and they are not red, white, and blue. Steube recently took to social media to lambaste a local small business for displaying signage in support of Liz Barker, Tom Edwards, and myself.

First of all, let me state for the record that it is a privilege to stand with these fine candidates in any lineup. Secondly, I take it as a badge of honor to receive criticism from do-nothing Congressman Greg Steube. He clearly knows who his most worrisome challenger is, and is wasting no time in rallying his troops to harm a small business of his hardworking constituents exercising their freedom of speech.

Partisanship aside, displaying campaign signage and literature is a foundational component of our democracy. Every American has the constitutional right to express their support for the candidates and issues they believe in. Engaging and informing our fellow citizens to get out the vote is an integral part of America’s electoral process. Clearly Steube is an enemy of that.

Perhaps even more concerning is that we have a representative who instead of focusing on the critical clean-up efforts after Hurricane Debby, is playing petty political games on social media. It is sad for our community, and it is unbecoming of any Member of Congress.

Greg Steube is too busy being a political hack and right-wing extremist to be a public servant. Together, with our votes, we can unseat Steube and usher in responsible representation for Florida’s 17th District. That starts with getting out to vote in the Democratic Primary on August 20, and then in the general election on November 5.

When we defeat Steube in November, I will always put people before politics and work every day to make your and your family’s lives better.

Common sense, common ground.

Vote Montavon in Florida’s Democratic Primary on August 20.
